With the new client I noticed you can move the mouse wheel to scroll through inventory and stats.

First, thank you for doing that. The new client is awesome and I've grown to love it.

My suggestion would be to allow us to use the button in the wheel to allow casting of a spell of your choice?

If there is a ready made implementation for this that the community and staff is unfamiliar with, then by all means. At present I see no active modification of our part, but if you have an alternative then we will of course abide by your decision.

I think I would need to do some homework for this one.
