Virtual Machine

Post by Aerie »

Hmm...anyone have any idea how to install Virtual Machine on a macbook? Use to have it on my laptop then had to get a new hard drive... one of the reasons why I haven't been around. But was thinking about installing Virtual Machine again to pop in from time to time!

You don't need a VM. Just use wine or crossover.

I use crossover and it all runs great You can even set it to be in a window by going to wine control panels, graphics tab, and emulate a desktop in a window of size 800x600.

I also use a Mac but dual boot Windows. I've heard good things about wine, but I think it's more complicated to set up than other options. Parallels also works. I've not experienced crossover

Crossover is much easier. It is basically just a container for wine with extra bits added for ease of use. But it does cost money.
