Stackables

Post by Inappropriate »

Someone mentioned this while collecting spider heads. What if spider heads were stackable? We could spend more time gathering them and less time walking before going to turn them in. This is already implemented for profession items. What if it was implemented for more items that can be just as annoying to hoard around?

Spider heads
Useful for low rank players collecting spider heads. Players can stack them up until they have as many as they need instead of making walking trips back outside several times.

Stat scrolls
Quality of life for hoarders of stat scrolls. Could be made into a large stack and left somewhere like pdepot/bank/clanhall

god scrolls: normal, Ankh, Ishtar
Scrolls would probably benefit templars the most, hoarding them around to spellup anytime they need it.
This is probably the worst to implement due to not being able to keep track of individual scrolls. But it could be implemented to add scroll charges together and when clicking on a scroll with 4+ charges it would remove a full 3 charge ish from the stack.

Same rules apply for any stacking item. Left clicking a stack unstacks one from the stack, must be unstacked to use. Using an item with the same item in hand would stack them, unless the stack is full.

Each item that gets changed to be stackable needs to have the driver code for that item and everywhere it is used changed.
It was essential for professions and was built in when I was writing that code.

Not impossible but not a quick trivial idea.

Yes i like the idea of being able to stack more. Being able to stack potions would be a great start.
Over the years it has become somewhat easier to make some decent spellsets.... allthough the inventory space remained the same.
I think ive asked if it was possible to give players more inventory space.. but what ive heard it would be almost impossible to implement that.
Being able to stack stuff (like potions) will gives us a little more room in our inventory :)

Yes please! Stackable pots and scrolls would be amazing. If stacking isnt possible then maybe some kind of eye collector that can be filled with pots, drugs etc and be unsocketed? Or maybe some kind of 'backpack' item that can be opened and it would open up a window similar to the grave window that you can add/remove items from?

It sounds like a good idea.

There is some work to implement it across the board, driver by driver.

I need to be awake to do it

If this is done, is it feasible to have a little number on the corner of the item icon to show how many remain in the stack?
