It appears to be working for some people.
It is failing on my PC, sometimes getting into the game but with corrupted sprites, sometimes failing on the 3rd text sprite.
I have reloaded the sprites from scratch and still get the same effect.
My next hypothesis it that it could be a memory limit in the packer.
I will try creating a new packer from the new expanded client and se if that works better.
Stay tuned.
This is a long weekend and we are in lockdown so hopefully some time to work on it.

00001.png seems to be corrupt, when I extracted it, same as Drink did, it showed the same file. That is why a 00001.png in /gfx solves the issue (or prevents it).
So I would think checking 00001.png and repacking should solve the issue (assuming the file 00001.png used for packing is okay).
Since 00001.png isn't different then before, I doubt it is a memory limit.

Most likely working for alot of people as quite a few people use the re-skinned 00001.png files so they wouldnt notice.
only people using standard would be broken.
OK nothing wrong with the source 00001.png sprite - before packing.
This sprite did not change between Pack 13 and Pack 14 (the recently released pack).
I have gone back to Pack 13 and repacked it and it all works.
I have copied all the new sprites to the to the gfx folder and all appears to work (with or without 00001.png).
When I merge Pack 13 and the new sprites into a new Pack 14 it appears to corrupt the pnglib.
Unfortunately the sprite packer does very little error checking or data validation, and it does not crash, so it is not easy to find where the data is being corrupted.
I may have to try to add the new sprites in smaller groups to work out the cause.
Well this will give me something to do on this Lockdown long week end.
