/sort displaying its options everytime.

Post by Drink »

When i type /sort it now sorts my inventory (just used display the messages) --- not against this, but if it does the sort why it display! ;p

Secondly if you use any of the full commands like /sorti /sortd /sortp it still displays the message.
message as below:

/sortdepot <option>
/sortinvent <option>
/sortpdepot <option>
option=
w = weapon
a= armour
p = usedestroy
h = hitpoints
e = endurance
m = mana
v = value

Basically no matter what you do it sorts but displays the full screen spam of text.

If you hoard that much items you need to sort your depots, you have just grabbed to much. And I've never had an issue with lots of junk in my depots and it not being sorted, since I first started to play this first version in 98/99. Imo this new commands for sorting is just annoying and stupidly long to write. You never use /tell, but /t. And /sort was always /so.
If the /so worked for inventory + depot(s) at same time, I wouldn't mind it. But making several weird ones is just annoying for us who might have been playing a few years, and is used to the short ways of using the commands. And for text based games, there are several other games to play where you have to write the commands to do stuff. Just saying. :shock:

I can make /sort sort everything (shortened to /so).

I can also make /sort type the help.

Maybe even retain /sorti /sortd and /sortp if you only want to just sort one of them.

Would that make it easier?

Well, I also see others that kind of like the new sorting commands, so if it's possible to do as Marky said in another post, add a space to after the /so(rt), like to be more /so(rt) p(depot) and so on, it wouldn't remove the old way to sort or anything, and new commands can be used too, but have to use a space between the /sort and the command for what you want to sort. If that works tho. If it's not possible, I think will surrvive it, but I will play just as little as I do now days. I won't risk losing the almost full inventory of stash I now always have with my chars. I am no fan of the commads require long texting, as you probably already noticed tho. :lol:
I'll drop by in game in a 3-4 weeks time, as I haven't brought my laptop on vacation. Might actually play an hour if I find me some spare time from my old PS2 console.

Would probably make
/so /sor /sort /sorti all default for inventory.
/sortd /sortdepot for depot
/sortp /sortpdepot for pdepot

Its in the help menu to find if ppl lose it, but 99% of the time inventory is the goal.
Some people might organise their pdepot/depot other ways so making it sort all everytime MAY cause annoyance ;p

This is the sequence:
/sortinventory (works with just /so)
/sortall
/sorthelp
/sortdepot
/sortpdepot

You will only get the help if you type /sorthelp.
The other commands give a one line report on what they have done.

/Sortall will sort all of your inventory and depots.

See if that is better.
