SS Items Vanishing

Tonight I lost a set of SS legs and Balzzy lost a SS piece also. I was in AT when it happened just past the hall skellies, I think he was in there too but later. It might be a fluke but you all might want to keep your eyes on it.

Were you in combat at the time?

The most common cause of SS armour or weapons disappearing is due to accumulated damage as they are not repairable.
You should have got a message saying the item had disappeared but in combat it may have been missed.

Another but much more rare cause can be acid attacks that dissolve armour.
I am not aware of any such traps in the Abandoned Town area.

It is also possible there is a rare bug out there that I am not aware of and has not been previously reported.
I have not heard suggestions of this before but it may worth considering if more instances occur.

I was in AT at the time. I C2"d the hall skellies and ran past them. When I went to respell before entering portal I got the message that a more powerful bless was over ridden and noticed the item was gone. No probs since tho. I'll shout if it ever happens again.

Is it possible that the skeletons did hit you (while you were running past them), which made the piece age and vanish?

My issue ended up not being a SS item disappearing. It was the mad Hermit and it had vanished while going into the forbidden cave... Had never gone there before and was not aware it would do that.

Some quest items get autodeleted on some portals or when the server restarts.

That has been around since before Adam was a wee tot of a lad.

I suspect the original aim was to stop people abusing quest items by taking them out of the areas that they are restricted to.
